Salud-y-Vida (Diabetes Program)

We want to help out participants who have already developed diabetes to manage the disease and prevent it from running their life. This program includes nutrition classes, cooking classes, a community garden, aerobics classes, mother and child competitive aerobics, walking club, one and three mile runs, zumbathon, male support groups, formal diabetes classes, and laboratory testing. Proyecto Juan Diego has received our accreditation with the American Diabetic Educators Association and has a master trainer in the D.E.E.P. program.


Group Lifestyle Balance (Diabetes Prevention Program)

A local collective impact project with Unidos contra la diabetes. The goal of this program is to assist those living an at-risk lifestyle to make the changes necessary to prevent or greatly delay the development of this condition.We encourage employers to implement this program into their organization for the well-being of their employees.



In-Home Prevention Program

Promotoras de Salud meet with local community members in their homes to discuss and provide health education on various diseases. They also share with clients other current information that may be useful. PJD Health Workers are prepared to cover more than 81 health topics and each conversation is tailored to meet the unique needs of the individual families and community members. During these visits, Promotoras de Salud often receive referrals and learn about additional needs of the community.


Group Exercise Classes

Offered Monday thru Friday from 8:00am-9:00am and evenings from 5:30pm-6:30pm Monday thru Thursday at San Felipe de Jesus.
